If you can’t make it to watch SNL lamy-poehler-seth-snl-weekend-updateate on Saturday nights, No worries they’re bringing it to you on Thursdays at 8pm on NBC.  Thursday nights on NBC starts out with laughs and fun as Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers poke fun at this weeks headlines in the SNL skit Weekend Update.  Amy and Seth always follow the major headlines and put their own little spin on things to well, make you laugh!

One of the best parts of this weeks weekend update was the “guest” appearances by Madonna, Jimmy Carter, and well the infamous South Carolina Senator Joe Wilson and his “You Lie” comments.  Madonna came on the show to discuss her similarities with the oldest living person Gertrude Baines who died this past week at 115 years old.

Really Madonna?  I don’t think so!

Joe Wilson claims that the Republican party had an agreement to all yell, “You Lie” at President Obama when he said “the reforms I’m proposing don’t apply to those who are here illegally.”  He claims that they changed their mind about yelling “You Lie” when he had slipped away to the bathroom before going into the President’s address and forgot to tell him.

Seth and Amy ended their show with, Really?  They must have said “really” 50 times in three minutes while they discussed the Jim Wilson comment, Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift at the VMA’s and Serena Williams tennis meltdown.

Why watch CNN or Headline News when you can get all the weeks scoop on SNL’s Weekend Update Thursday!  At least you know you’ll be entertained while watching the news for once!

  • Loved this post so much I had to go right to hulu & watch it! Thanks.
  • I love Saturday Night Live going to have to try and watch this!
  • I much prefer to watch the parodies of the news rather than the news itself. We are also huge fans of the NPR show Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me.
