Every person has their preference. With today’s technology and animation, we aren’t watching your mother’s version of Mickey Mouse or Howdy Doody. TV has come A LONG way, thank goodness.
In these times you can choose what to watch by the style of show you are interested in, or would like to see. We don’t have to count of “dummy’s or hand-drawn cartoons. With computer generated characters some cartoons almost look “real”.
From blue dogs and purple dinosaurs to yellow sponges and little explorers, you have a choice of style.
As I said with the past three entries; education, age appropriateness and entertainment- the shows you prefer are different than others. I have no problem watching big costumed mascots talking to real life people, and I have no problem with all animated shows and movies. There is however a kaleidoscope of animation available.
Anime (an Asian style of animation) is totally different than your run of the mill American style drawings. And computer generated cartoons are different than hand drawn pictures.
Pixar Animations that brought you Toy Story, A Bugs Life, Monsters Inc. explains their process here
I think technology has helped boost movies and shows, although nothing can replace a real person.
The choice is yours.
Which do you and your children like best?
