Becky Botsford aka WordGirl and her sidekick Captain Huggyface (her pet monkey) battle bad grammar and proper word usage in her adopted hometown. Similar to another superhero, she crash landed and was adopted by a family.
WordGirl on PBSKids incorporates many superhero cliche’s , including supervillans, to teach kids about vocabulary. There’s even a boy reporter. The show is very tongue in cheek and the narrator interacts with the characters, which is one of my personal favorite parts.
