more-to-love

As a chubby gal I have been looking forward to the new Fox show, More to Love.  After this last season of The Bachelorette, I’m primed to enjoy seeing some ‘real people’ try out this reality television love thing.

My first impression of Joshua is pleasant.  He seems strong and confident and genuinely open to the gals.

My first impression of the ladies is mixed.  Some of them made VERY unfortunate wardrobe choices.  At least one of the gals needs a major hair intervention.  (Who starts a reality show with an inch of dark roots?!)

At least half of these gals looked like they would have been a lot more comfortable in flats… they looked like they were afraid of falling off their shoes!  (I know I would be.)

I love the gal that jumped in the pool – what a show of guts and personality.  It’s too bad that all of the other ladies proved to be stick in the muds because it was really obvious that Joshua was interested in seeing some fun erupt in the otherwise dull evening.  Her stand out move worked because he did keep her through to next week :)

My heart breaks for the five girls that went home… and can’t wait to see future episodes.

The Great American Road Trip on NBC follows seven families on a competitive road trip, where families get eliminated each week based on their losing the challenges.  Starting their trip in Chicago, they will travel on Route 66 in RVs, seeing historic landmarks along the way.

The families not only get to see sites across America, but participate in everything from pie eating contests to hot air balloon rides.  How do you think your family could handle the challenge?

ronnieDarn it Ronnie.  We wanted to like you.  You’re a Geek’s Geek – the kind of character that people love to love on Reality TV.

But you’ve overplayed your hand.  You aren’t showing good game.  If you just slowed down a little bit you could still be in with at least part of the household – but no, you’re like a bull in a china shop.

It will be interesting to see how Big Brother Season Eleven progresses from here.

dating-in-the-darkDating in the Dark premiered this last week and we watched it on ABC.com this morning.

Can you imagine dating someone in the dark?  I’ve had my share of relationships that started with telephone calls -where you get to know someone’s voice before you see them.  But this is different.  You get to sit together, touch each other, even kiss!  All the while not knowing what the other person looks like

Three single gals and three single guys date as a group and then have brief one on one dates – so they’re exposed to each other quite a few times.

Do you think you could get to know someone that way?

I felt some disappointment at the shallowness that some of them displayed even after having gotten to know someone fairly well.  Hearing a guy say ‘I hope she’s hot!’ is just sad.  Isn’t the whole point that they’re learning to connect on a non-visual level?

Our daughter really enjoys watching nature shows.  One of our favorite things to watch is actually not a show, but WildCam Africa on the National Geographic website.  It’s a 24-7 live stream feed of a watering hole in Africa, there’s even a Facebook page where videos and pictures are posted of the different animals that visit the watering hole.

Different times of day have more activity than others, but it’s a new show everyday.

big-bro

jessieBig Brother is back and sadly, so is Jessie. I would have thought after how negatively people responded to him last time that he would want to do anything else BUT reappear back on the show, you know??

We don’t really get to know anyone else on the cast well enough to pick out anyone special good or bad.  Is that a bad sign?

I have a question for the show producers and those in charge of casting… why so much white?  For crying out load, is there a rule somewhere that says you have to put one lonely black woman on the show?

You can watch Big Brother on CBS.com.

wesThe blog is family friendly so I’ll resist putting a bad word in my title. I will say that it starts with a D and sounds like stick.

This week on The Bachelorette Jillian finally saw through Wes and his ridiculous sham and let him go.  Thank God!

I cannot believe  Wes believes that coming on the show to completely jerk a girl around for a few months is a good marketing ploy.  It has certainly given him attention – but I don’t know a woman on the planet who doesn’t want to kick him in the balls right about now.

riotI am sooo glad that America’s Got Talent is on Hulu!  I love it!  It is a laugh riot watching the acts come across the stage.

Tonight I watched the third episode.

I don’t honestly know why they voted Carol through.  She was funny but a great dancer.  If a younger person had done that, they would have been hitting the X button in no time.

Do you think I’m being mean?  I hope not.  I laughed with everybody else – but I just don’t think she was Las Vegas worthy.

Of course, the young girl with the amazing pipes was fabulous and I loved the magician.

I also loved the Fab Five sister act who danced.  Was it tap dancing?  Or river dancing?  I’m not sure – but I liked it. Isn’t it cool that these sisters come together from all over the place to do this?

One thing I’m not so sure of are those shiny pants.  From the behind… uh-uh.

The heart wrench of the night for me was the ‘Chicken Catcher’.  He sang so sweetly!  I am so glad that the judges responded the way that they did.  If they had trashed him I’d have cried.

bach-ed

Are you watching the Bachelorette?

Was anyone else completely heartbroken when Ed left a few weeks ago and did anyone else find their heart skipping a beat when he came back this week?

*swoon!*

On a ‘oh no way!’ note… I’m horrified that she kept Wes on for another week.  Why can’t she see how shifty his eyes are when he feeds her his lines of bull?

I am actually kind of angry that the show’s producers are knowingly allowing a man who has confessed on camera that he’s not there for Jillian at all to stay.  I know Jillian signed up for this, but don’t they owe her some revelation of what’s going on?

What to you think?

And yes, you can watch all the past episodes on ABC.com.
