A Day without TV?

On About.com, blog writer, Carey Bryson wrote a post about Nickelodeon and their Worldwide Day of Play. Read below for all of the details.

Day of Play

All of Nickelodeon affiliated networks will be going off air for 3 hours to remind kids get off the couch. I think it is a great and responsible thing to do. I think other networks should fall into place, even though costs will be huge. It’s important to make sure kids know how to be healthy and keep moving. Go and check out the site to host your own “Day of Play” party!

Even Chicago is getting in on hosting their own event.

That's great that the networks are doing this. They're not all about money and ratings.

Are they doing this every week? Was it just for that one day? I remember seeing it over the weekend. I wanted to take the kids outside but it was cold and rainy.

it was just for one day. But I was surprised that a TV network would actually do that, and glad they did!!

Great idea! When I was 9 our TV broke & my mom refused to get it fixed, for a whole year! It was good for me, I went back to playing barbie's & going outside. Every so often getting "unplugged" is good for us. ;)
