It’s Things I Love Thursday! What is not to love when you have LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell on the same show?? They can be on my screen any day of the week.

About the Show

Special Agent “G” Callen (O’Donnell) is a chameleon who transforms himself into whomever he needs to be to infiltrate the criminal underworld. His partner is Special Agent Sam Hanna (LL Cool J), a former U.S. Navy SEAL who has seen action in both Afghanistan and Iraq, and a surveillance expert who uses state of the art monitoring equipment to look out for those in the field and feed them crucial information.  Armed with the latest in high tech gear and sent regularly into life-threatening situations, this tight-knit unit relies on each other to do what is necessary to protect national interests.

Currently Matthew is the star of the USA Network show, White Collar. I have  been a fan of Matthew since I saw him in the short lived ABC show, Traveler.

Traveler

The series follows Jay Burchell and Tyler Fog, two graduate students who become suspects when the fictitious Drexler Museum in NY is bombed while they are pulling a juvenile prank. It appears that their friend and roommate, Will Traveler, has framed them for the bombing. Afterward, Traveler disappears and there is no evidence that he ever existed. Jay and (more…)

My kids love to “watch.” Truthfully, have you ever met a child that doesn’t? Watching online is a special treat for my children because it’s something new and not the same old DVDs. It also doesn’t require me going to the library or video rental kiosk. I just have to surrender my computer for a little bit. Sometimes I actually even do the dishes while they watch!

We started with Hulu and Netflix – the old faithful standbys. If your child has a favorite show I suggest you check the network’s site for episodes or clips. If you really want a certain show don’t forget to check Amazon’s watch it now feature. Lately we’ve been using Jaroo to watch Miss Mallard – a cartoon duck detective with a bumbling nephew.

I just found Kids Warner Brothers and know that my kids will enjoy watching the Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry. Who am I kidding? Their dad and I will enjoy the cartoons too.

Do your kids watch any shows via the Internet? What’s your go-to site for kid’s shows?

If you are interested in this topic there is a 4 part series about Kids and TV that you should check out.

Covert Affairs is creeping up into my top five favorite shows.  Catch it tomorrow night but first, if you missed last weeks catch it on Hulu.

Synopsis

Washington, D.C. wakes up to a city without Internet, cellular data or a communications infrastructure. DPD is tasked with finding out who is behind this widespread cyber attack when it’s learned that sensitive government servers may have been breached.

Joan asks Auggie to step out of the Langley office and become a field operative at a high profile “hacker” convention, where they believe an infamous Russian cyber-terrorist and anarchist, Natasha Petrovna, is attending. The only problem? Petrovna is also Auggie’s ex-girlfriend. Annie accompanies him to the convention to offer two million dollars for the safe return of sensitive government codes. After Natasha balks at the deal, Joan steps up the heat and makes Auggie give her the ultimate ultimatum: break with her morals or get thrown in prison. (pssst… you get to see Auggie shirtless… yummy)

At the same time, Annie is ordered to tell her sister to take down photos of her that her sister posted on a cooking blog. Danielle is insulted by the request, further driving a wedge between the two siblings’ very different lives.

The Food Network has become one of my new favorites networks. So many shows not enough time.

The Race

I live in a small town in the Midwest, so we don’t have food trucks in town.  I hear they have excellent food though.  So on the show The Great food Truck Race they take seven teams of three and travel the United States and compete to see who has the best food truck.

Host Tyler Florence instructs the teams to meet in particular US city. In each city, the teams will start with a limited budget, then they have the weekend to strategize and sell. The team that makes the bigger profit wins the challenge and moves on.  The team with the smallest profit is the team that is sent home.

Truck Stops

There are some twits that Tyler throws at them called Truck Stops.  So far I have only seen this happen once and in the middle of their challenge they were told they needed to cook with jalapeno.  The person that made the best dish wins the truck stop. In this particular one, it was free pass to the next round.

I think this is such a great show. It goes to show that the little guys are just as popular as the big guys.  Check out The Great Food Truck Race Sunday nights at 8pm EST on the Food Network.

This show is a favorite among Twilight lovers. I have to admit, I started watching this show when it first peak it’s head on the CW but I sadly bowed out from watching it. Something about it never kept my interest.  I have to say now I wish I would have kept with it. I hear it’s a pretty darn good show.

Here is some link love to chat with other Vampire Diaries fans

The new season is coming up September 9th. If you can’t remember how the last one left off, check out the final episode, Founder’s Day, on the CW website.

I love books about as much as I love TV. So for this It’s Things I Love Thursday! I will talk about books that are TV shows.

Gossip Girl

This show is based on the book series, Gossip Girl, by CecilyVon Ziegesar.  Started in 2002, the books and TV show follow a group of friends on the upper east side of New York. The novels runs much like a soap opera, except that the main characters are all rich and snobby chic 17-year-olds who want what they want and let nothing get in the way. The final and eleventh book was published in 2007. Following the series were 2 follow up books. In 2008, there was a follow up book series called Gossip Girl: Carlyles. Shortly after, in 2009, the series came to life on the CW and has been on ever since.  The TV show isn’t as far along as the books so I hope it’s safe to say the show can be around for a couple more years. If you are not a book lover you can always buy the Gossip Girl previous seasons on DVD.

If you are a Gossip Girl fan I am sure you will love both the book and the TV series. Let me know which you like better.

Have you heard of this? This is new to me. Who would have thought you could have a conversation between blogs.

How does it work?

Basically you find someone that is interested in chatting with you back and forth between blogs. So for this blog I would love to talk TV with someone.  You write a letter to the blogger asking a question as if it was an email. Instead of sending it privately, it is posted on your blog for all to see. Then the blogger will then in return write a letter to you answering your quesiton on their website linking back to you and the original post with the question. This is a great way to get your readers interested in your blog and your create organic back links to your site.  These conversations can be for as long as you want them to be, but typically after 4 posts each the conversation ends.
